Troy Paiva

Troy Paiva is a light painting photographer from the U.S and has been taking images of west american deserts for over 25 years. He considers himself to be an Urban Explorer. He likes to spend most of his free time alone exploring by himself in the middle of no where, trying to find anything that might catch his eye. He mostly takes images of abandoned vintage cars and old buildings such as run down petrol station and cafes. He always takes his images at night this is why he light painting is so powerful and eye catching.

For most of his images he uses the technique of light painting doing this he lights up the inside of the abandons vehicles he finds and the run down buildings giving it a Retro 50s- 60s vibe. I love how he does this his images are very powerful and very surreal but in a very simple way. I think they have a very sci-fi feel to them. His work has appeared in galleries all over the place such as New York, Sweden, Los Angeles and many more. In 2011 he was a guessed judge of the Singapore reality show "The Big Shot.
